Anxiety-Free Dentistry for Children

Children are often terrified of dental treatments. Anxiety-free dentistry can alleviate the child’s anxieties and mental discomfort, helping them overcome their fears and hesitations. Not every child needs anxiety-free dentistry. Our kids dentist will determine if your child needs sedation based on their anxiety levels, the child’s condition, and the parent’s input. If anxiety-free dentistry is necessary, we use nitrous oxide or oral sedation to ensure the most comfortable experience.

Emergency Dentistry

Emergency dentistry, by its very nature, deals with unexpected and urgent dental situations. If your child has a knocked-out tooth, severe bleeding, signs of infection, or other dental problems, you should act quickly and decisively. We provide last-minute emergency dentistry services to restore the child’s oral health and mitigate the damage.

Your First Visit

The first dental visit is all about the dentist and child getting to know each other. Our kids dentist in Loudoun County, Ashburn, and South Riding will spend quality time with the child, explain dental procedures, and introduce them to the dental tools using colorful and imaginative language. This is done to help the child feel comfortable within the dental clinic. We also review your child’s medical and dental history, examine their mouth and teeth, and evaluate their dental habits. After the session, we discuss your child’s dental health, treatment possibilities, and other concerns.

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that a child’s first dental visit be scheduled before their first birthday. Nova Children’s Dentistry follows all of AAPD guidelines, specializing in infant oral health and education. Please contact Nova Children’s Dentistry for the best dental exams for kids in Ashburn.
